Mobile Dog Grooming contract template
A simple service agreement protects you and the owner, and is worth using even for repeat, referral-based clients since you're working alone on someone's property.
Scope of services
List exactly what's included: bath, brush-out, haircut/style, nail trim, ear cleaning, and any add-ons like de-shedding or de-matting, with pricing for each.
Arrival window and cancellation policy
State the appointment window (mobile schedules are tight), your cancellation notice requirement, and any late-cancel or no-show fee to cover the lost route slot.
Health and temperament disclosure
Have the owner disclose any health conditions, recent surgery, skin issues, or aggression history before you start, and get authorization for vet referral if you find something concerning.
Matting and de-matting policy
Severely matted coats can require a shave-down for the dog's welfare and safety — spell out that you'll recommend this when matting is too tight or painful to brush out, and get sign-off in advance.
Liability and insurance
Note that you carry groomer's liability and care/custody/control insurance, and clarify who's responsible if the dog is injured during normal restraint or grooming.
Payment terms
Specify the rate, when payment is due (typically at time of service), accepted payment methods, and any travel surcharge for distance beyond your normal route.
This is general guidance, not legal advice. Consider having a local attorney review your final agreement.
