Gutter Cleaning contract template

A short service agreement sets expectations on scope, ladder placement, debris disposal, and pre-existing gutter condition before you're up a ladder at someone's roofline.

Scope of service

List exactly what's included (gutter clearing, downspout flushing, a water-flow test) and what's billed as an add-on (gutter guard installation, minor repair, roof or window inspection), so the client isn't surprised by an upsell mid-job.

Pre-existing damage and condition

Note that pre-existing rust, loose brackets, sagging sections, or fascia rot will be pointed out before or during work, since gutters in poor condition can be damaged just by being cleared and shouldn't be mistaken for damage caused by the service.

Debris disposal

State whether cleared leaves/debris are bagged and left on-site, blown onto the lawn for the homeowner to handle, or hauled away, and whether hauling is billed separately.

Ladder placement and property access

Note that ladders will be placed on stable, level ground and against gutters/fascia in sound condition, and that landscaping, flower beds, or delicate surfaces near ladder-placement points should be flagged by the client in advance.

Weather policy

State that service may be rescheduled at no charge for rain, high wind, or ice, since wet roofs and gutters make ladder work meaningfully more dangerous.

Height and access limitations

Clarify any limits on roof pitch, story count, or access height you're equipped and insured to safely service, and that jobs beyond that scope will be declined or referred rather than attempted.

Cancellation and rescheduling policy

Require minimum notice and define a late-cancellation fee to protect your schedule, especially during peak fall/spring demand windows.

Liability and insurance

Clarify that you carry general liability insurance for accidental property damage during service.

Payment terms

Specify the flat rate or per-linear-foot calculation, due date (day-of vs. invoiced), accepted payment methods, and any recurring biannual maintenance-contract discount and billing cadence.
